Where to find Palazzo Ca'Zenobio for the Venetian Carnival Balls
Palazzo Ca'Zenobio and the Hall of Mirrors
Palazzo Ca' Zenobio degli Armeni was build in 1690 by the Zenobio family and is designed by Antonio Gaspari. It is in baroque style. It is famous for its Hall of Mirrors or Sala degli Specchi, the ballroom. The adjacent room was decorated by Ludovico Dorigny, Gregorio Lazzarini, the famous Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. On the panels you will e.g. see the life of Queen Zenobia of the 3rd-century Palmyrene Empire, who was supposed to be an ancestor of the Zenobio family.
The three entrances to the ground floor and an opening of the central part of the two noble floors contain 46 windows (monophora). Two round arches, called serlianes, are overlooking the garden from the facade of the building. At the end of the garden of Palazzo Zenobio you will find Temanza's archive and library.
An iron gate distinguishes the beginning of the romantic garden, with its beautiful trees. It still features the paved court, with traces of two real wells.
