A moment that lasts a lifetime

The Balls are inspired by the renaissance balls and the stories of Casanova. Casanova remarkably answered to a woman who asked him what he sought, ‘A moment that lasts a lifetime.’ Giacomo Girolamo Casanova was born in Venice in 1725. Gambler, swindler, poet, bon vivant, nouveau arrive, seducer,  known for his amorous conquests, but especially a great storyteller. Casanova's memoires (17 volumes!) are still being read. He was also active in occultism and involved in societies like the Freemasons and Rosicrucians.

Beauty without wit offers nothing but the enjoyment of its material charms, whilst witty ugliness captivates by the charms of the mind, and at last fulfils all the desires of the man it has captivated.
